Water hyacinth

(1 customer review)

Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant from Brazil that lives in reservoirs, lakes, ponds, swamps, and rivers. The Latin name of it is Eichorniacrassipes. As well as other plants, water hyacinth has roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The stems can reach more than 50 cm in length.
For the environment, this plant can reduce water pollution and process as animal feed, compost, and bioenergy.
This plant reduces water pollution quite effectively since it absorbs lots of phosphorus and nitrogen from water contaminated with toxic waste materials.
Water hyacinth is also used as a natural energy source. This plant can be processed as bioenergy, a fuel made from processing plants (biomass).
